Challenge: While the PSBJ has been successful in obtaining advertising clients in most industries, the construction industry has been particularly challenging to attract as regular advertisers with the journal.

Solution:
Lead Generation Program
A special edition of the PSBJ called “The Seahawks Stadium: A Touchdown for the Region’s Economy?” was published in July, 2002. Sittig Incorporated was retained, and we created a direct mail campaign to solicit new advertisers from the construction industry. First, the top 100 Sittig Incorporated contacts from the construction industry were identified as target clients. Next, we created an introductory letter and sent it to the identified contacts. Then, we followed up with the contacts using a series of email and telephone calls to bring them to a level of requesting more information from a PSBJ Sales Representative. Finally, we sent the qualified leads to the PSBJ for closure.

Results: With typical direct mail campaigns resulting in a 1 – 3% success rate, the PSBJ was thrilled with the outcome of 5% as a result of the Sittig Incorporated direct mail campaign!
